At Memwiz, your privacy is our top priority. We are committed to protecting your information and being fully transparent about how your data is handled.
1. Overview
Memwiz is an offline-first memory training app designed to help you learn faster, master mnemonics, and sharpen your mind — all while keeping your data private and under your control.
We believe your memories and personal knowledge belong to you. That’s why Memwiz does not collect, store, or share any of your personal content on external servers.
2. Data Collection
Memwiz does not collect any personal data. Specifically, we do not:
- Collect names, emails, or contact information
- Store your flashcards, snapshots, or learning stats on our servers
- Use advertising SDKs or data brokers
All content you create (including custom images and mnemonics) remains on your device.
Anonymous Usage Analytics
To improve the app experience, Memwiz uses Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data. This helps us understand which features are most used and where we can improve.
Examples of data collected include:
- Feature usage patterns (e.g., which screens are visited, sessions started or completed)
- Onboarding flow progression
- General interaction events (e.g., flashcard reviewed, deck created)
This data is anonymous — it does not include your name, email, flashcards, images, or any personal content. No data that could identify you personally is ever collected or transmitted.
Firebase Analytics may also collect certain technical data automatically, such as device model, OS version, and app version. For more details, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
3. Data Storage
All your information — decks, flashcards, imagination snapshots, and daily progress — is stored locally on your device.
If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is securely stored in your private iCloud account, managed by Apple. Memwiz cannot access or view your iCloud data in any way.
4. Device Permissions, AI & Third-Party Services
To provide the full memory training experience, Memwiz may request access to certain device features. These are processed entirely locally:
- Photo Library & Camera: Used only to let you create visual flashcards or add images to your “Snapshot Gallery.” These images never leave your device.
- On-Device Intelligence: Memwiz uses local processing (CoreML) to generate metaphor suggestions and analyze text. Your learning content is not sent to third-party AI servers for training.
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Analytics (Google) Used to collect anonymous usage data to improve the app experience. No personal content is shared. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Memwiz does not use any advertising networks or data brokers.
5. Your Control
You remain in full control of your data at all times.
- You can delete all data by removing the app from your device.
- If you use iCloud Sync, you can also delete stored data via iCloud Settings → Manage Storage → Memwiz.
Memwiz never has access to this data.
6. Children’s Privacy
Memwiz is designed for a general audience and does not knowingly collect any data from children. Since the app operates entirely offline, there is no transmission of personal data.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements or changes in functionality. If we do, we’ll update the Effective Date at the top of this page.
