At Desktop Pet, your privacy is our top priority. We are committed to protecting your information and being fully transparent about how your data is handled.

1. Overview

Desktop Pet is a macOS desktop companion app that displays a small animated cat or dog on your screen. Your pet settings stay on your device — nothing is uploaded, synced, or sent to a server.

We believe your personal information belongs to you. That’s why Desktop Pet does not collect, store, or share any of your personal content on external servers.

2. Data Collection

Desktop Pet does not collect any personal data. Specifically, we do not:

  • Collect names, emails, or contact information
  • Store your pet settings on our servers
  • Use advertising SDKs or data brokers
  • Use analytics, crash reporting, or any third-party tracking SDKs

All content you create remains on your device.

3. Data Storage

Your pet settings — your chosen animal, size, speed, volume preferences, and the pet’s last on-screen position — are stored locally on your device using the standard macOS system storage (UserDefaults). No data is transmitted to any server or synced to any cloud service.

4. Third-Party Services

Desktop Pet does not use any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers.

The app has no network access and makes no outbound connections.

5. Your Control

You remain in full control of your data at all times.

  • You can delete all data by removing the app from your device.

Desktop Pet never has access to data outside your local device.

6. Children’s Privacy

Desktop Pet is designed for a general audience and does not knowingly collect any data from children. Since the app operates entirely offline, there is no transmission of personal data.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements or changes in functionality. If we do, we’ll update the Effective Date at the top of this page.
